Two of the Google News Alerts I have set up, one for “bisexual” and one for “Daryl Hall,” have been sending out stories like mad over the past few days. In case you’re not also interested in both bisexuality and the tall, blond half of Hall and Oates, perhaps you’re not aware of why.

It seems that a team of researchers have concluded, after one study, that people are either gay, straight, or lying. Well, in fact what they found was that this particular group of men who identified as bisexual were apparently aroused exclusively by images of only women or only men. This has led dozens of papers to publish stories basically claiming that bisexuality doesn’t exist. Needless to say, I’m a little annoyed by this.

Meanwhile, Daryl Hall has been cancelling concerts for the past week or two, and it was just announced the other night that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Well, now he is getting the kind of press only mildly strange announcements like that can attract, and some of it has almost been making it seem like a) he did it on purpose for the attention? or something and/or b) he’s a wimp to be cancelling shows on account of a little tick action. Needless to say, I’m a little annoyed by this.

Of course, I’m easily annoyed lately, but there you have it. Now watch something weird happen with Netflix or one of the other news alerts I have set up, and I’ll have to do something rash and unsubscribe from all of them or something.

My god. What if they’re aroused by different things in men and in women? What if pictures do it for them on the one front and voices or touch sensations on the other? I hate it when shoddy research gets misinterpreted even further by the media.

Oh, and had Lyme disease. She woulda been cancelling concerts, too–she was quite ill.

I would show surprise that Daryl Hall still does concerts, but I’d hate for you to get annoyed at me, too. 😉

In other news, the weather looks beautiful tomorrow and we’re planning to get out on the lake–you guys interested? Since we’re on lake time, “sometime around noon” until “sometime before dark” is about our plan. Let me know if you think it might work out, if not, the offer is still open any other weekend (or Sunday for that matter, but we have a work function that evening so it’ll be a short day). Email me if you still have my email address, if not, I’ll just check back here.

I thought for sure you were going to say “Daryl Hall has announced he’s bisexual”. Although, I would’ve put my money on Oates, the moustache was a dead giveaway.

Just a quick apropos (and shameless plug of Technorati), alot of people talking about Daryl Hall.

    http://www.technorati.com/search/%22daryl%20hall%22

You can create a Watchlist (kinda like Google Alerts) from that page. You’ll see what other people are saying about Daryl Hall.

Lyme disease can be quite dibilitating. He may have serious case.

This is from a Lyme website:

Around the time the rash appears, other symptoms such as joint pains, chills, fever, and fatigue are common, but they may not seem serious enough to require medical attention. These symptoms may be brief, only to recur as a broader spectrum of symptoms as the disease progresses.

As the LD spirochete continues disseminating through the body, a number of other symptoms including severe fatique, a stiff, aching neck, and peripheral nervous system (PNS) involvement such as tingling or numbness in the extremities or facial palsy (paralysis) can occur.

The more severe, potentially debilitating symptoms of later-stage LD may occur weeks, months, or, in a few cases, years after a tick bite. These can include severe headaches, painful arthritis and swelling of joints, cardiac abnormalities, and central nervous system (CNS) involvement leading to cognitive (mental) disorders.

Bailey only attacked male bisexuality. He already studied women and decided there’s no such thing as a heterosexual woman. We’re all bi or gay.
