The Idealistic Pragmatist posts her retirement; farewell, nuanced discourse

From day one, the tagline of this blog was “resisting the pull of cynicism since 1969.” Well, in case it isn’t obvious from the few posts I have managed to eke out since early 2009 or so, I’ve stopped resisting.

It’s tough to let go of a position you once held, and even tougher when you developed a blog around it. So it particularly hits home when you read a friend’s sign-off post to a blog she created out of high hopes and ideals. But it’s a nicely written goodbye, even if it is one more nail in the coffin of nuanced discourse online.
