Well, that was obnoxious. I copied the HTML directly from the meme source, copied it into Semagic and even previewed it in Semagic before posting it, and it worked fine. All those extraneous ” ” tags didn’t choke Semagic — I wonder why. And Semagic doesn’t have a find and replace feature in the entry editor, so I had to scrounge manually through the mess of markup to find all those non-breaking space tags.
