How my garden will grow. I hope.
Karsten and I just planted some 50 new bulbs from Burpee that in spring and summer of next year should produce some gorgeous and striking flowers, as shown in the pictures here from the Burpee.com catalog. We also transplanted some purple irises that were thinned from a neighbors garden and which were already sprouting - so hopefully that wont ruin their chances of sprouting in the spring.
And yes, we tend to have kind of a purplish theme in our garden. It's beautiful when it works, but right now the orange daylilies, orange-red cannas, and yellow daffodils are the most reliable flowers. Not so much with the purple flowers. But maybe next year it will balance back out if these beauties show up like they're supposed to.
