Also, pirates don’t use toy guns, so even if this cat were a pirate he would be doing it wrong.

This is utterly perfect. Almost exactly the nuanced distinctions I would articulate if I'd put enough thought into it. My social skills are largely intact, so I'm clearly a geek, at least in reference to the web, about which I admittedly am obsessed.
